Overview
Overview
We understand the current museum as a container of objects that have been generously owned and handed over by the villagers. These objects have been deposited by people who recognize their value or their potential to become of general interest, as they tell stories about their lives, their histories, their work, and their relationship to the place. Together, they illustrate a way of living and understanding Sant Cugat Sesgarrigues, representing a particular culture associated with specific activities that may no longer exist but must be reimagined—a past and a history. Above all, they serve as a testament to the people who have built and made this place what it is today, and who will pass it on to their children.
Some of these objects may be displayed in the museum, while others will need to be stored as unique elements in a repository. We believe it is essential to be careful in the selection process to ensure it is representative and respectful of the community’s wishes regarding the public display of their values.
